Citation payments can be made in person by paying with money order, cashier’s check, cash, VISA or MasterCard  at Crawford Probate Court or you may pay online.

The Probate Court has exclusive jurisdiction over the probate of wills, the administration of estates, the appointments of guardianships and conservatorship for incapacitated adults and minor children, and commitments to involuntary evaluation with mental health, drug or alcohol issues.

Responsibilities of Crawford County Probate Court:

  • Issue Marriage Licenses and Firearms Licenses
  • Maintains Vital Records for Crawford County- includes birth and death certificates for the State of Georgia, and marriage licenses issued by Crawford County
  • Administration of Traffic Citations for the county
  • Administration over the Probate of Wills, Administrations, Guardianships and Conservatorships of both Minors and Adults

If you are a new resident of Crawford and you need a renewal, you will have to complete the application as new applicant.

To finalize the process, please bring your ID with the county address or proof of residency (Electric bill, Phone bill, Lease) and your old weapons carry license.

You can renew your weapons carry license up to 90 days before it expires or 30 days after it expires. If the expiration on the license is over 30 days, you will be considered a new applicant.

Fingerprints are made at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
